Adding a camera to the OM with a screen for the patients allows an unequaled communication with them and their accompanying persons. All the explanations become clearer.

A common and tenacious opinion consists of believing that the use of an OM is exclusively dedicated to endodontics. Nothing could be further from truth, because it is addressing all the procedures of dentistry. In this age of mini invasive dentistry, the increased visual perception of details delivered by an important magnification increases the capacity of the practitioner to diagnose beginning or recurrent cavities as well as cracks, to distinguish the different colorations of tissues, to make preparations at minima, to refine the polishing quality of restorations, to evaluate the finishing quality of prosthetic preparations and of the material-tooth interface, to adjust with precision the occlusal contacts and to realize many other procedures…
Of course, a certain time of learning remains necessary to reach efficient working with an OM and this essential step may discourage potential users. Unfortunately, practically no information was available so far to help practitioners to rapidly become performing with an OM and to avoid thus groping, waste of time and sometimes frustration.
The first DVD helps the practitioner straight away to familiarize himself with the different components of the OM, and this for the various brands available on the market. Afterwards, with the help of simple exercises, the subtleties of working in indirect vision are rapidly understood and integrated. Viewing the working positions in the different sectors as well as the role of the assistant will save a lot of time for the beginner.
In the second DVD, four clinical demonstrations on a patient in restorative and prosthetic dentistry show the practical application of the entire information described initially.
Throughout watching these two DVDs, the pedagogic impact of the image is potentiated by an exhaustive comment of extreme precision. In short, I can but recommend this unique pedagogic tool without restriction to all practitioners interested in using an OM in omni-practice, but who so far hesitated to jump ahead!
